Plastic Free July 2020
This set of activities was covered by the Swindon Advertiser.
Plastic Free Swindon is 2 today! And what better way to celebrate than to step the campaign up a notch?
Armchairs at the ready!
For Plastic Free July this year, something different. The government and many businesses are not making the changes that are necessary to effectively deal with plastic pollution. We want to change this. Full details here.
Film night
On the evening of 1st July, we are showing the Story of Plastic film by the excellent Story of Stuff project. More info in the films section. If you would like to see the film and be involved in the discussion afterwards, please contact us.
I challenge thee...
As usual, we are encouraging everyone to take the Plastic Free July challenge to go plastic free. It’s a good education and a positive step away from this system of plastic pollution. Give it a go! It may just change your life... Plastic free already? How about challenging your friends and family?
A new home
It’s a pleasure to launch this website, built from the ground up during the last 3 months of lockdown. We hope you will find it of use and that it will serve the campaign well.
Co-operation makes it happen!
Finally, we will be litter picking in town and in Gorse Hill. Sadly these will not be public events due to current concerns. We are working with Keep Swindon Tidy on challenging the culture of littering, getting people to think more about our waste, and taking pride in where we live. More on that soon...
