Uplands Enterprise Trust litter picks

Article by Sue Jordan, Skills for Work Lead at Uplands Enterprise Trust

Uplands Enterprise Trust is a Swindon based charity helping young people with special educational needs and disability (SEND) to help themselves. The young people at Uplands Enterprise Trust Skills for Work team have been busy cleaning up the streets of Gorse Hill with litter picking. Getting involved with the community has been a positive and constructive activity for the young people at this challenging time with the pandemic, it gives them a sense of achievement and pride to know the area where Skills for work is based is clean and tidy. One young person said, "There are lots of old masks around that I have been picking up and making the streets tidy, which I like doing."

Litter picking has been a huge success with the Skills for work Team. Thank you to Ben for getting us involved, we hope to continue litter picking as 2021 progresses and to keep our community, Gorse Hill, free of litter!
